Sheffield Digifest

Sheffield Digifest is an annual festival for primary and secondary school students offering a mix of engaging digital activities alongside  a careers fair focused on the digital sector.

It is a distinctive feature of Digifest that workshops for primary school students are largely run by secondary school students trained up in coding and robotics as well as how to teach. Students from the local university technical college (UTC) have also acted as guides.

Employers and education providers support the Digifest careers fair, offering advice and guidance on digital sector ‘next steps’ and careers. Participating organisations have included: Sumo Digital, WANdisco, Lightworks, Apple representative MCC Digital, Google Digital Garage, Code Club, Plusnet, The Education Foundation, Barclays, Vodafone, Benchmark Recruit, Sero Consulting, yoko:10, Can Studios and Sheffield Digital.

Discussions are now in progress about how to fund and structure the 2019 festival.
