Here you can find information on schools-based clubs and activities in Sheffield that focus on digital skills development.
Code Club is a national network of volunteer-led clubs for young people aged 9-13 which are usually based in schools or community spaces. They offer easy-to-follow, step-by-step guides to help children learn Scratch, HTML & CSS and Python by making games, animations, and websites. There are a few Code Clubs in Sheffield but not many – you can see where they are by entering your postcode on the Code Club website. Discovery STEM Education
The Discovery STEM Education centre at Kelham Island runs After School Clubs in primary schools. You can see which primary schools and what is happening here. They also run Saturday STEM Clubs and Holiday Camps. The Discovery STEM Education centre has close links with the University of Sheffield and is supported by the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Boeing and Rolls-Royce.
CoderDojos is an international network of volunteer-led clubs for 7-17 year-olds with supporting resources. There are none in Sheffield as yet, as far as we’re aware. Please get in touch if you are interested in setting one up.
